Weeks 36, 38 & 39

Here are the final weeks for you. As of today, still no baby, but he can come at anytime now. Will be sure to keep you all posted. Have my 40 week appointment tomorrow morning so we will see what they have to say!

Matt's parents arrive the week before Labor Day so it was really great to have them here and get settled in for the wait of little Heron. I missed week 37 due to it being Labor Day weekend and I worked about 10 days straight with the holiday weekend and training my maternity replacement.

Week 38 was a very busy week for me. I was finishing up Labor Day weekend and my 10 day straight  working stint. Getting all the training finished up, baby shower at work and then a romantic dinne r at Stella with Matt. Can't believe it's been 4 years since our wedding day. It's been a incredible ride and looking forward to many more years to come! Also, Michigan beat Notre Dame which is HUGE in our family. Matt being a Notre Dame fan I was out numbered this year, but i figured since the baby is still in my belly it was 2 against 3 (Matt & his parents). Our son may decide one day to become a Notre Dame fan like his Dad. Matt sees it as he's his son and so he is a Notre Dame fan, period. But, the way I see it this year, my son was a Michigan fan. Go Blue!

We are on the final count down this week, but really not sure what plans this little guy has. Will he be on time or running a little late? I'd really like him to be more on time than late, but i have a feeling that I really don't have any say in it. :) Either way, the whole family is ready to meet this little man and find out his name, which we have not decided on yet and won't until we see him. So we hope to be seein' him sooner than later! We are getting anxious around here! :D

Hopefully next post will be of our baby boy! Fingers Crossed!

Maternity Photos!

We were finally able to get some maternity photos taken somewhere between weeks 36 & 37 i believe. The smoke from the Rim Fire killed our first attempt, and you can still see some haze in the background in a few shots, but for the most part it was pretty good one early morning so we took advantage. Our friend photographer, Stefan McLeod, did the honors. Enjoy!  :)

The final weeks coming soon!

Weeks 30, 31, 34 & 35

Here is more catching up! Hope you are enjoying this as much as I am. :) This time we missed two weeks in a row, sorry.

I couldn't believe hitting 30 weeks! I remember hitting this mark and being like....holy crap, I only have 10 weeks (or less) to get myself, the nursery, and everything else together! Needless to say, I was being a nervous wreak and nesting hitting it's all time high. I'm sure the adrenaline mixed in also helped. I'm sure Matt especially loved living and being married to me that week. :)

I finally came down off my freak out and knew that it will all get done in time. So i decided to get away one last time before I couldn't fly anymore and head down to Vegas. I was dreaming of swimming in a cool, refreshing pool and sleeping through the day. Sadly I was delusional as the weather was much like Michigan (hot, rainy and muggy) from thunderstorms that decided to roll through THAT weekend. The pool clocked in at 87 degrees so not at all refreshing. I will say though, i felt like my old self in that water. Being weightless felt amazing, though i learned real quick that gravity takes over again like a slap in the face when you get out of the water. After spending 20 minutes in that pool I truly felt the weight of pregnancy when I went to "hop out". Felt like I was carrying an anvil in my belly when i broke the surface. So, the "hop" became more of a slow slow readjusting crawl out of the pool.  As for sleep, I just should have known better. It didn't happen.

Pretty much explains where weeks 32 & 33 went to... Work, Work and more WORK!

Hitting 35 weeks was another freak out time for me, but on a much smaller scale. I have considered myself a pretty easy pregnant woman with very few issues during this 9 month experience. My temperament, i think, has stayed amazingly reasonable considering the amount of work and stress I have undergone for 3 straight months. So i figure that knowing i had about 4 more weeks to go (give or take) I could endure anything. However, Tahoe had to deal with the effects of the Yosemite Rim Fire which means we had a lot of smoke invade Tahoe. And that smoke ended up ruining our Maternity photos we both had planned in advance to take one evening by a friend of ours. When we learned we wouldn't be able to do them due to the smoke (all the photos would have come out brownish if we did) normal people, like my husband, would say "No big deal, we will figure out another time to do it". But the unreasonable pregnant in me unexpectedly reared it's ugly head and was not so understanding of things out of one's control. I was stupidly mad at the smoke and stubbornly adamant about getting these photos done anyway. I ended up crying it out as Matt sweetly and carefully convinced me that we still had time to do them when the smoke wasn't so bad. So this picture was the aftermath of that event so i wouldn't completely feel that all that "getting pretty" waste of time wouldn't actually go to waste.

Thank you babe for knowing when to tread lightly and yet still able to bring me back to my senses.
 I love you so much!

The final weeks to come!

Weeks 24, 25, 27 & 29

These posts from here on out are catch up posts. This year Summer came VERY early to Tahoe and so brought all the tourists earlier than planned. I started working 60 hour weeks the very first week of June and kept going until the last week of August, so here are compilations of photos (some weeks are missing as we just didn't have time to blink let alone take a baby bump photo). So I apologize for the gaps sometimes, but we did our best. Enjoy!

Pretty much sums it up.

Matt and I got to get away for a night of camping at Sugar Pine Point with friends. It was a very welcomed break before the tourists stormed Tahoe for the summer.

We got to get away for a long weekend mid June to attend a family wedding in good ol' Michigan. It was great to get out of Tahoe, but was glad to get back. Forgot how humid and hot Michigan can be in summer. It's even worse when your pregnant. Didn't know my feet could swell 3 times their size, along with the rest of me. Oh...and we both pretty much lived on our computers as well as the work kept piling in.

I promise I didn't just change the chalk board and my pants, this really was two weeks later and i think noticeably less swollen. July 4th week was so crazy that I obviously didn't pay attention to the fact I am wearing the same thing again for the photo. I'm just amazed we got around to a photo so consider yourselves fortunate as I consider this a small victory.

Thanks and more to come to catch up! :)

Week 23 - Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day Weekend we celebrated one of our close friends, Lael Porter, baby #2. A darling little boy who we now call Whitman, born July 6th. Tory, Meg, Lael's Mom and I got together and put this little afternoon luncheon together for the special Mom-to-be-again.

Fireman themed in  honor of Dad for the little man.

Cupcakes done in sports by Lael's Mom's sister who is one amazing baker!

3 generations of lovely ladies!

All the ladies on a beautiful May day at the Truckee Winery.

Baby Heron is the size of a grapefruit, about 10.5-11.8 inches long and weighing in at 12.7-20.8 ounces. Baby's face is formed and is listening to my voice and heartbeat now. Baby can also hear loud sounds like car horns and barking dogs now as well.

Till Next Week!
